Wonda Polk was born March 6, 1959 in Marion, Arkansas , daughter of the late Alcay and Susie Lemmons.

Wonda moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1974 where she met and married her husband, Michael Polk. They married March 31, 1976 of thirty-three years.

Wonda's occupation was a Certified CNA caring for people as she did her entire life. There was not one family member or friend she did not open her doors to.






In 1988, Wonda stopped working, took a trip to Arkansas to move her sick mother to Detroit to take care of her. Wonda loved the Lord. She attended Central CME Church in Detroit, Michigan when the Lord called her mother home in 1988.

Wonda started living life for herself again. She started working at the Original Fish House in Detroit cooking.


In April 2007, Wonda became sick and she with her husband moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to their twin daughters. They were able to spend the last 2 years and 6 months of her journey on this earth, caring for her and loving her so much.

She leaves to cherish in memory her loving husband Michael Polk. Her two daughters Juanita Solomon and Juaneta Cooper. Three grandchildren; Dionna Jinay Richardson, Deon Deshawn Richardson Jr. and Nina Nicole Solomon. Thirteen sisters and brothers with a host of nieces and nephews.
