OBITUARY:

Life began on March 14, 1948, when the late Mr. Henry Raines Sr. and his wife Mable gave birth to a beautiful princess. Beverly was the first born followed by her brother Van. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and received her primary education at Scott's Crossing and Collier Heights Elementary School. Beverly graduated from Charles L. Harper High School in 1966. After high school, she decided to pursue an Associate's Degree at Atlanta Business College.

She grew up in Collier Heights, a close knitted community where she met her closest and dearest friends and many, many more who she loved dearly. She especially loved her nieces and her late nephew. Her great nieces and nephews were a joy to her. Her face would light up every time she saw them. Among her dearest friends.

In 1978 she met the love of her life, Mr. Willie Alexander. They shared a special love but most of all a love for the Lord. Beverly and Willie joined Zion Hill Baptist Church together under the leadership of Reverend Aaron Parker. Willie preceded her in death in September 1998.

Beverly was an avid reader, loved movies and music, and had a passion for beautiful things such as diamonds, pearls, clothes and shoes. She also loved things that were leopard print and she like things that sparkled.

Beverly loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Easter, when she decorated the house inside and out. That made her happy. It was her way of bringing a smile to her family and friends when they arrived at her house to visit.

While she endured many trials, her incredible spirit, love of life, faith in God and devotion to her friends and family will live on and be treasured forever. Her constant upbeat outlook was a beacon of hope and encouragement to many people, her family included.
