Lonnie James Fuller, Sr., 87: Real Estate Broker
Lonnie James Fuller, Sr. was the proprietor of Fuller Realty Co.
He built his company in the mid-1950s, and was one of
the first licensed African American real estate brokers
in the city of Atlanta.
Mr. Fuller was a veteran, having served in the Korean War.
He was a native of Tuskegee, Alabama,
attended Tuskegee Institute, and later transferred
and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta.
He continued his studies at Atlanta University
attaining a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Mr. Fuller was passionate about real estate and
enjoyed mentoring others who aspired to become
licensed real estate agents. He was an active member
for many years at Mt. Calvary Baptist church
in Atlanta and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
Mr. Fuller loved to discuss politics and
real estate and felt compelled to assist others
in finding affordable living options within the city limits.
He never met a stranger, had friends from all walks of life,
and will be remembered for his vivid memory of people
and factual information.
Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by two children,
Arnette and Lonnie Fuller, Jr.
He is survived by two daughters,
Marilyn Fuller and Patricia Earley (Aaron) of Atlanta,
a loving nephew, Dee Cee Madison (Barbara) of Tuskegee, AL.,
five grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
